Point Pleasant Beach was hit hard by Sandy, and many rebuilt homes were raised up on pilings. Expect stairs at a lot of front doors and pack accordingly. Summer adds boardwalk crowds from Jenkinson's, so fall and spring moves are a lot calmer.
Point Pleasant School District serves the borough (Point Pleasant Borough High School) and Point Pleasant Beach School District serves the beach (Point Pleasant Beach High School). Electric is JCP&L and gas is New Jersey Natural Gas in both towns.
