Moving Tote Rentals in Toms River, NJ

Toms River is the county seat of Ocean County, and it's home base for Totes4U. Whether you're moving into a downtown apartment, a Silverton ranch, or a North Dover colonial, we deliver totes to your door anywhere in the township.

As a local Toms River business, most deliveries here can be scheduled within a few days, even on short notice during month end crunches.

What moving in Toms River looks like

Toms River covers a lot of ground, from the downtown blocks around Washington Street to Silverton, Gilford Park and the North Dover developments, plus Ortley Beach out on the barrier island.

Month end is the crunch here, when leases turn over and closings stack up. If your date is the 30th or the 1st, book a week or two ahead.

Local moving notes for Toms River

Neighborhoods

Toms River is big and spread out. You've got downtown, Silverton, Gilford Park, Pleasant Plains, East and West Dover, and Cattus Island on the mainland, plus Ortley Beach, Normandy Beach and the rest of Dover Beaches out on the barrier island. Tell us the section when you book so we know which side of the bay we're heading to.

Getting around

Parkway Exits 80, 81 and 82 all serve the township. Exit 82 at Route 37 is one of the busiest in the region, and Route 37 toward the Mathis and Tunney bridges backs up all summer. If your move crosses the bay, a weekday morning beats a summer Saturday every time.

On the barrier island

Ortley Beach was hit hardest by Sandy, and a lot of what's there now was rebuilt, including new townhouses. Rebuilt homes often sit up on pilings, so expect stairs at the front door and pack totes a little lighter.

55 and over

Holiday City at Silverton, off Yorktowne Boulevard, is a 55 and over community of single family homes with its own HOAs. Heads up: Holiday City Berkeley, Holiday City South and Silver Ridge Park have Toms River mailing addresses but are actually in Berkeley Township. Our downsizing guide covers these moves.

Schools and utilities

Toms River Regional Schools serves the township. Electric is JCP&L and gas is New Jersey Natural Gas, so set both up a week or two before your move date. Township info is at tomsrivertownship.com.
